Joanna has spent over three decades building and growing some of the world's best-known technology companies, including Facebook, Aol, and Google. As an industry veteran, Joanna has a deep understanding of the technological and commercial innovation needed to make a transformative impact on humanity.
Joanna is currently the Founder & CEO of Precognition - A multidisciplinary team of experts in AI, strategy, and trend forecasting offering heads of state, C-suite executives, and large corporations frameworks and platforms for decoding the intricacies of an AI-driven global landscape.

Prior to joining BenevolentAI, Joanna served in the UK Government as Under Secretary of State and Minister for Internet Safety & Security, Digital Economy Adviser and Chair and CEO of TechCityUK. As a former government minister, she is recognised for achieving breakthrough results to complex global challenges at the intersection of technology and society.
A pioneer in leading global efforts for the ethical development and deployment of artificial intelligence, Joanna served as the Co-Chair of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), an OECD-endorsed multi-stakeholder initiative working on the trustworthy development and deployment of AI.
Joanna is the founder of the WeProtect Global Alliance, a global multi-stakeholder initiative made up of over 100 countries, 50 technology partners and dozens of civil society organisations working in partnership to combat online child sexual abuse and exploitation and protect the rights of children online.
